Reno snags

The floor-laying downstairs has slowed down due to the grossly uneven sub floor in one area. Today, I will attempt to even it out with a self-leveling compound. I feel that when all floors are done, things will start wrapping up.

I have empirically observed the law of diminishing marginal motivation, as more things get done around the house. All of the sudden, we could live with that yellow paint on the window frame… and the ceiling doesn’t look so bad… It’s more difficult to find energy to do small things when major work is nearing completion. The problem is those small things give the overall impression of the house.

Quick morning

Time is of absolute essence lately. The difference between leisure five years ago and leisure now is striking. The various house projects occupy all of the discretionary free time; however the end is within sight. The house should be completely livable in a few months, going at a comfortable pace. I should be able to finally start working on the CFA by summer, at which point I will need to dedicate one full day per week without fail.

The commute is tough, but it’s worth it. Love the area. We have not looked back at the apartment life.

Great Success!
